June 2010 Newsletter: What’s New?

Published by Jeff Hajek on

There’s some good news and bad news on the ‘What’s New?’ front this month.

Great Growth! (The Good News)

On the plus side, traffic has been climbing steadily. We grew at an annualized 13.4% monthly increase in traffic over the last year! It’s been great to see people from all over the world subscribing to this newsletter, signing up for our Gotta Go Lean blog, and registering on our site to get the helpful user-only content that we offer. We’d love to see that growth continue, so, please, keep spreading the word about us.

Slow Servers. (The Bad News)

The bad news is that we are battling slow servers because of the growth. Suffice it to say that we are deep in the heart of the PDCA cycle to improve the site’s performance. It runs well most of the day, but you might experience a slowdown between 6 and 10 in the morning on the West coast. If you do, you can…

  1. Log off and visit the site as a guest. That often speeds things up. Without user customization, pages serve up much faster.
  2. Try again after 10:00. The server seems to pick up the pace at that point.

Sorry to have to offer workarounds, but we are working on the root cause of the problem.
