Sports and the PDCA Cycle

Published by Jeff Hajek on

Many Lean principles are used in everyday life. PDCA is no exception. Today’s podcast discusses how the process of coaching youth sports uses the Deming cycle.

This 12-minute podcast also talks about committing to solving the problem. Just because you can make an improvement doesn’t mean that you are going to actually do so. Resources are finite, and improving one thing often means neglecting another.

I also briefly talk about the role of leadership in the PDCA cycle.

A final, administrative point. I am altering how I post my podcasts a bit. I have a fairly robust presence on YouTube and decided to put my podcasts there. It helps with access and with ensuring that my somewhat limited website doesn’t get overwhelmed when I post or promote new content.
